The Role of a Certified Translator: What We Do and Do Not Do
A certified translator's job is to produce a complete, accurate rendering of a document from one language into another, with a signed statement attesting to that accuracy. That is the full scope of the role — and it is worth being explicit about what it does not include.
A certified translation is not legal advice, tax advice, or an opinion on how a document should be used or interpreted. We do not advise on which document type to choose for a specific legal outcome, how a contract clause should be structured, or how a translated document might affect a legal or financial matter — those are questions for a licensed lawyer or accountant. Our responsibility, and where our expertise genuinely lies, is making sure what is written in the original is rendered completely and accurately in the target language, nothing more and nothing less.
